AUBURN, Ala. – Xaria Wiggins, who competed at Mississippi State the last three seasons, has signed an Athletics Financial Aid agreement to play basketball next season at Auburn, head coach Johnnie Harris announced Thursday.

Wiggins, a 6-1 guard from Virginia Beach, Va., appeared in 72 games over her three seasons at Mississippi State, averaging 12.1 minutes per game.

"We are elated to add Xaria Wiggins to our Auburn Family," Harris said. "Xaria will make an instant impact to our program due to her versatility of playing multiple positions. Xaria's skill set and work ethic will be a valuable asset to our style of play. She is also a phenomenal student in the classroom, and I give credit to her amazing parents, Major & Sheron. We are excited for Xaria's arrival to The Plains! War Eagle!"

She averaged 2.5 points as a junior for the Bulldogs, playing in just 11 games after missing the first part of the season with an injury. She had a season-best nine points at Alabama on a career-high three 3-pointers.

"Words cannot express how happy I am to be a part of the Auburn women's basketball program," Wiggins said. "To reunite with Coach Harris, who was the National Assistant Coach of the Year a couple of years ago, is a dream come true! Her intensity, attention to detail and her motivating spirit really brings out the best in players. On top of all that, she's like a second mom to all the players, which will definitely give me an 'at-home' feel. I can't wait to get started! War Eagle!"

Her sophomore season, she played in 32 games, starting three, and averaged 4.2 points. Her career-best game came at Georgia with a career-high 13 points off the bench, and she had a career-high six rebounds against No. 3 Stanford. She also helped Team USA to a silver medal at the World University Games in the summer leading up to her sophomore year, including a near double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds against Chinese Taipei.

Wiggins was a four-star guard out of Princess Anne High School in Virginia, ranked No. 54 nationally and No. 9 at her position by ESPN. She helped her high school team to five state titles in as many seasons and was a third-team All-American in 2018. She also played club ball for the Boo Williams AAU team while in high school.
